The air conditioners in offices and shopping malls in Singapore are set at a much cooler 20 to 22 degrees celsius. In countries with colder climates people put their coats on to go out, but here, people put them on to get into offices. Singapore's climate is not that bad compared to much hotter climates elsewhere in Asia. The climate is humid, but not hot. Riches bring in these kind of extravagant habits and its hard to stamp them out. Refrained using the aircon for a month and it brought down the energy bill by a cool 60%.
