Deepavali eve has already set in here (in Singapore) with Little India lit up, decorated and crowded with curious onlookers. Bought some sparklers (crackers are not allowed - good for the eardrums) and earthen lamps to be lit for this Deepavali. Thinking of childhood, it used to be the most anticipated festival for the whole year, celebrations used to begin at least a month before - the lobbying for fire crackers, boasting with other children in the mohalla, discussions about the latest in town and finally on the day of Deepavali - helping Amma to light up the entire compound wall with decorated earthen lamps... Hope the festival, lights up the lives of every one and bring joy and fun to every home.
